The Comfort Zone

Phrases Chosen: so needed, "seniors-pay attention"
BE is not saying enough about this particular quad. It has been on QVC & I've been peeved it wasn't here. And, the colors shown on the web are off.
First of all, it is all neutrals. Secondly, they are all light. If you are like me, the lightest color in a pallet is always used up first. This quad solves that, they are all light.
Third, and MOST importantly, they are not glittery-perfect for those of us who avoid glitter for various reasons (age, conservative work environment, allergy, etc). I even do the equivalent of a smoky eye using all these neutrals. It looks glamorous & spectacular and Is perfect in a business setting.
If I could have one, and only one, eyeshadow pallet, this would be the one. I travel a great deal & this is often the only eyeshadow I pack.
I don't know abouttheother two color combinations, but The Comfort Zone is a real keeper!

Phrases Chosen: great for us 65+
I haven't liked any primer except the original. But this stuff us great. It feels creamy, different from the silkly original. But the biggest deal is the sunscreen. I spend a lot of time up in the mountains. On casual days, this is all I wear. I'm 70 and love this because it just glides over my lines. On "makeup" days, this keeps my foundation & contouring in place all day. What a wonderful product.
I've had no problems with the pump. Did they make changes of some sort?

Phrases Chosen: great brush excellent coverage needs practice
I've read the reviews about clumping & had the problem myself. But I finally figured it out.
1). I was leaving too much on my brush. Now I wipe more off, on the lip of the tube, & then apply. I get lovely, individually coated lashes with no clumps.
2). You really need to use the brush as designed. That is, to roll it against your lashes. I was just starting at the base & wiggling, & then blinking against the applicator. Clumps every time. Now I start at base, wiggle and twist the applicator. It took some practice to be able to wiggle & twist simultaneously, but it works like a charm.
The reason for 4 stars is that it's not waterproof. For all those for whom it is coming off, make sure lashes are oil free. You can also put a smite of Mineral Veil or brightener on your lashes first.

Great for "Senior" Skin

Phrases Chosen: versatile great for dry sensitive skin
I'm 70 and have verrrrry dry, sensitive skin. This cream works wonders for me. During the summer, I use at night & use a lotion in the day. When cold, dry winter comes around, I use it in the daytime too. The key is to massage it in well (that feels good anyway) and let it dry for a bit. I put it on, brush my teeth, fix my hair (about 3 minutes), and then do makeup. I never have problems with a greasy feeling or finish. It is a less-than-lovely color, but I don't need it for color. It's also not one of those perfumy smells, but that's what you get with a product that doesn't have lots of added ingredients. My test is how my skin feels when I wake up in the morning. With this cream, it's not taunt and itchy, its usual condition. While it's not cheap, it is more cost effective than the drug-store brand I used before BE.

Great for removing eyeshadow, also nicely moisturizing. However, it does not remove mascara well. I swipe my lashes several times, turn the pad over, and wipe some more. I still have raccoon eyes in the morning.

Great travel, but small.

I travel a lot & like to have a complete set of makeup & skin care in my travel case. This is perfect for that. I think it is even better than the new all-in-ones because you can replace items as needed. However, the sizes are EXTREMELY small. The black cases are smaller than the ones that hold the eye shadow duos. I ordered over the web and there is no info on the size and amount of each product. I gave it 4 stars because of the size issue.
BE really needs to include size information on new items so that we can make informed decisions about what we are buying. I still would still have bought this kit because it is perfect for my needs, but I'm getting reluctant to buy over the web unless the sizes are given.

Size small, Colors don't match

Phrases Chosen: ok colors but size misleading
The sizes are small. I ordered over the web, and there is no size info listed. There was no way to know how small they are. However, they are easy to slip into a pocket. The colors on the web are way off, probably an error in setting up the page. However, they all work well for me. None are bright, clear colors like red or coral, so they fall into what I think of as "neutrally colored" lipsticks. I think the full-sized lipsticks are expensive and was hoping this was one of those packages that are a good deal. Not so. I like having several choices, but won't buy a similar package again.

Phrases Chosen: yeah, perfect for travel
I travel a lot & am fairly new to BE. I've been trying to accumulate a travel set of makeup, but it's not easy. The combo of blush & luminizer was perfect, but I still had to carry all the foundation, mineral veil, & such. This is awesome.
I do wish it had a blush; that would make it perfect. Now if they would only make a similar all-in-one for eyes, including liner, base, & shadow.
The brushes are a bit small. They will do in a pinch, but I'm going to pack my own. There is an elastic loop in the spine that will hold mascara, lip liner, brush or such. The plastic part that holds the producs is smaller than the case, so there is room to include a bit more such as lipstick, brush, or the Light products.
It's not made to be refillable, so try to use up everything evenly!
I love having solids for veil & bronzer. No more having powder over everything.
The box labels the color as "R250," not medium beige. But the website & video confirm that they are the same. It's a bit confusing & I wish they had used their usual color labels.
All in all, this is really a fabulous, welcome addition to the line. I can see it under lots of Holiday trees this fall.

Phrases Chosen: great for travel, wonderful color
I travel a great deal & like to have a complete travel kit-so nothing has to be moved from my dresser to my travel kit. To keep the size & weight down, I didn't want to have to buy both a blush & luminizer. Plus, the luminizer is not available in the Love Affair shade anymore, truly a beautiful color. So getting both blush & luminizer, in lovely shades, and a brush is a great value.
This would be great for a "newbie" or a holiday gift.

Phrases Chosen: great choice, a bargain
I bought this on Last Chance because it was such a bargain, but it turned out to be a great brush. The larger end feels wonderful and is good for applying eyeshadow over the entire lid or browbone. I have smallish eyes & crease, and it's too big for that. It's fabulous for buffing & blending.
The eyeliner end is perfect lining lashes-both upper and upper.
Like all double-ended brushes, it's not good for standing up in a container. There is a clear plastic sleeve over the liner end that just doesn't hold up. However, I bought this to go in my travel kit, so that's not an issue for me.
All in all, a great brush.

Intense color for a variety of eye-defining effects.

How do I keep this eyeliner from transferring to my upper lid/outer corners?
I love that these eyeliners last forever. And I can make a really thin tight line and then wing it out in a really precise cat eye. However, I find that after a while, the color from the eyeliner is transferring to my upper lid and outer corner of my eye. I have been applying this with a wet brush and still, it transfers. Any ideas? Primer? Can I use Prime Time on my eyes, too? Would that help? Do tell.
Top 25 Contributor
If you are not already using eyelid primer, try it. If you are, make sure to get primer all the way down to your lash line. I had that problem initially. Or, you can try mixing liner with a smidgen of eyelid primer. That really works!

Is the Blush/Luminizer in Cheek to Chic full-sized?
Is the Blush/Luminizer in Cheek to Chic full-sized? I think the brush is mini, but is the Blush/Luminizer?

Thanks!

It is the size of an eyeshadow duo, or 2.0, with half blush & half luminizer. I bought for travel. Also great as gift or for newbie.

What's the best face product for dry skin?
I'm looking at the Foundation Primers and the Skin Rev-er Upper. I have dry skin, but when I use most moisturizers, they give me acne. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Top 25 Contributor
Try Purely Nourishing Cream. The primers aren't moisturizers. Use on clean skin with nothing else. Let dry a bit before adding anything else. Better yet, use it and don't put anything else on for the day. That will test whether it will make you break out. If you don't break out from it, start adding primer & foundation.

got the radiance collection which include primer. do i also use moisturizer
do i use moisturizer and the primer?
Top 25 Contributor
Unless you have great, dewy skin, yes, use both. Use moisturizer first & give it a minute or two to dry. Then primer. The primer helps seal in the moisturizer & give you a smooth, clean slate for your makeup.

I have the purely nourishing moisturizer and the multi wrinkle repair. which do I use first when applying my makeup?

Use it before moisturizer. I massage it into the " between my eyes & marionette grooves. After about 10 days, I could see the difference.

Are all of these products smaller than their original sizes?
I wondered if the lipstick, mascara, and blush are the size they would be if you bought them separately?

They are much smaller. The black cases are smaller than the one using the eyeshadow duos & the blush/luminizer product.

Will individual refills be available for this kit?
I would consider purchasing this kit if I knew that refills were available. I like the concept of all-in-one travel case, but I know that I wouldn't use all the items in the kit with the same frequency. I wouldn't want to have to purchase another whole kit when all I need is more foundation. Will there be refills available?
Top 25 Contributor
There is no mechanism for refilling the built-in pots.

Will this kit be re-fillable?
This seems like a great idea for travel, but if I have to re-purchase the whole thing rather than just being able to drop in the make-up items to the case, it won't be very cost efficient.
Top 25 Contributor
It's not refillable. I weighted the cost issue. But it's a lot less expensive than having to buy each product individually. And there are no small sizes in Ready, warmth, & most of the veils, so it's hard to assemble a travel collection. I travel enough that I wanted an entire separate set of makeup & skin care. I use this set almost exclusively for travel, not on a regular basis.
