First I have to say, I hate how in the start-up kit you get a big foundation and a small Mineral Veil. I use the veil more than the foundation! Some days, I wake up with flawless skin (I know, I don't get it either) and so all I use to finish my face is the mineral veil. It is amazing. I can only describe it as such. It keeps my face rom getting oily, and locks in the moisture from my morning moisturizer, yet it doesn't cause any breakouts on me with the sensitive skin. I can only say one thing: buy it right now. It will change your world. I understand the price is shocking, but the large tubs have lasted me for over a year, so the money is worth it.

Not what I expected!

I have light skin with neutral undertones, so finding a good concealer is hard--always too yellow or too pink. I bought this skeptically. I was told to by one of the BE workers to buy Light 1. It looks REALLY pink in the tin. I first tried applying it with my fingers, and it didn't look good. But before giving up, I tried it with a brush. Boy, was the difference amazing! It blended with my skin tone perfectly! Plus, it covered my dreaded raccoon-didn't-get-enough-sleep eyes, and my blemishes! Nice job, BareMinerals!!

I must say, I was a little wary about buying this. So what I did was I went to a BE store to try it out. With ash brown hair, I thought I would get the color Brunette, but I was wrong! I ended up buying Dark Blonde/Medium Brown, because it looked so natural with my hair! Plus, the color is buildable, and it blends so will with my normal brows!

I absolutely love this makeup. I keep trying to switch to cheaper ones, but it never works out. I guess the price is alright though because I've been using the same large tub for a whole year and I still haven't run out yet! With combination skin, it's hard to find a makeup that won't dry you out or melt on the oily part of your skin, but this foundation is perfect--it doesn't irritate dry skin and it has real staying power on oily skin! The only thing I don't like is the twist lid...it makes it hard to get the leftover makeup out. I hope the newest one doesn't have it.

How can I choose the right color foundation for my skin tone?
I am 51 years of age, and my skin tone has changed as I have aged. How do I know what color foundation to use?
First, find out what undertone your skin has--if cool, warm or neutral. Then determine if you are "Fair", "Light", "Medium", "Deep", etc. Go to the "find your shade" app online, or to a BE retailer, and get a few samples (find whichever blends into your skin).

I wear the MEDIUM in the powder and Elizabeth said in the video that you might want to go one shade up from what you use. What is the next shade after MEDIUM?
Go to the "Find your shade" app on this site, and there's a list of sorts of shades corresponding to skin undertones and lightness.

What color should I match when I used mixed shades?
I use light and fairly light mix Original Matte. Light is too dark, and fairly light is too light, but when mixed it makes the perfect match. So which shade would you suggest in this makeup?
It all depends on what the undertone of your skin is, and how you apply it. With neutral undertones, use Fairly Light. Different brushes, or sponges give a different application (one person can wear up to five different shades!), and lighting makes a difference as well. I suggest using the "Find your shade" app, or going to a BE store and try out some samples--whichever blends into your skin is the closest shade!

How long does it last?
I really want to try this foundation but I'm worried it won't last. It's expensive so if it's only going to last a couple weeks I don't think it's worth it. I have minimal acne & blackheads so I won't use ALOT.
I've been using the same large foundation for a whole year and haven't run out yet! Of course, I don't wear it every day (when I'm staying at home, etc). But even if you use it more, the way the foundation works makes it worth the money.
