Bout time BM came out with a travel compact!
Rating
5 out of 5

Phrases Chosen: great for travel, nice compact design, perfect size, awesome finish, love!
Finally after a long time waiting BM has released a compact that actually works. First of all this is the same great finish I achieve with my loose Mineral Veil. I've tried the Ready finish and it just cakes on my skin. If you're like me and the original works but is too messy to travel and the Ready finish just isn't for you, then give this a try, it definitely worth at least trying.
The compact is very sleek and is a great size, it fits right into the palm of my hand perfectly. There is a magnet that helps it shut and stay closed so it's great for your purse, gym bag or any kind or travel. There is of course a mirror inside the lid and also a little plastic cover that fits inside over the powder to help protect it and keep it clean. The plastic is a little thicker than something you'd just throw away after opening so I leave mine in and just lift it out or up into the mirrored lid if I'm not using the mirror. I love how the outside of the compact is nice and sleek and slightly shiny which makes it even nicer to carry with you and easier to keep clean.
Great product! Please don't stop making this EVER....unless you improve on it even more. None of the other travel compacts have come close to this.

More glitter than shimmer

I already tried to add a more in depth review , but for some reason it hasn't shown up on the site. To save time, I'll just use the review I submitted to Ulta for this set.
I love BE moxie so as soon as I saw this set online I had to order it. Now that it's arrived I'm somewhat torn. I knew it was super shimmery but after trying it on it's slightly more glittery. When standing at a distance you don't notice the glitter too much, it just shines. However, there is definitely a difference between this & my other shimmer moxies.
As for the colors they were all lovely & versatile. There is more of a wash of glittery color rather than highly pigmented saturation. I plan to add these on top of some of my fall color moxies for a boost of shine rather than wearing alone since there isn't enough color saturation for fall when I'm a little pale.
I like this set but I won't be purchasing again once they're gone.

I like the Radiance collection, but I'm just not 100 % sure about this one. I find it slightly shimmery, but not necessarily bad. I use it everyday and have for several months now.
I'm gonna play around with it some more and see if I think it makes a difference in a good way, bad way or maybe if the Clear Radiance would work better. Not sure yet, but it's worth a try.
Hope this helps!

Phrases Chosen: great color for fair skin
I use the Bare during the warmer months as a Bronzer and it gives just the right amount of color for fair skin so that it doesn't appear fake or orange. I recently switched from Bare Radiance to the Pure Radiance since it's turning Fall and getting cooler.
I have red undertones, and when I even out my skin tone with enough foundation, it can appear washed out since I'm also very fair. Pure Radiance helps give me that natural color but not so much that it looks sun kissed, which is not very realistic in the Fall/Winter.
I haven't used it long so I can't remember for sure, but I want to say it has more of a Matte finish to it unlike the slight shimmer in the Clear Radiance.
Hope this helps!

Phrases Chosen: great bronzer for fair skin
I'm a fair skinned gal and during the Summer, I love how this gives me just an extra little touch of color without looking fake or orange. During the colder months I switch to Pure Radiance which still gives a hint of color, but it's more subtle and peachy rather than sun kissed.
I apply it lightly over my foundation prior to blush so I don't get too much color on my cheeks. I use light even strokes to apply it in the shape of the number 3 or in reverse for the other side of the face. I start at my inner brow bone by my nose and gently sweep it around the top of my brow and down following my cheekbone and then back around and down along my jawline toward my chin. Then I sweep a tiny bit down the length of my nose and across the tip for that look like you just came in from being outdoors.
This particular Radiance isn't sparkly like some of the others so it's very versatile. Hope this helps!

Good news is the set is really great. Bad news is, if you already have it from last year and haven't used it all up there's no new selection. If you didn't get a chance to grab it, now you have another chance.
I really like the colors, the size is great to throw in your purse and for the price it's a great way to try out several new shades. I just wish for those of us who already have this, the would come out with a new set or 2 before Christmas.

I love this color. It's a lovely shimmer and truly reminds me of the Emerald City, Oz. The coverage is good and the shimmer is wonderful, which I hope you can see from the pictures. Very nice and will definitely enjoy wearing it.
In pictures, I applied 2 coats on bare, moisturized skin with mascara only.
Hope this helps!

Wildflower is a shimmer which I always buy and love. I applied it using the foiled technique which lasts longer for me and increases the shimmer. In the pictures I've added, I applied 2 layers of the wildflower on my moisturized bare skin and added some mascara and that's it. I hope you can see the pearlescent shimmer this has. It almost has a slight pinkish sheen to it, but all I can say is it's beautiful.

This mascara does a great job at building volume.
Rating

Phrases Chosen: great volumizing mascara
I've read a lot of reviews on the definition mascara as well as the volumizing mascara and it seems like people can achieve the definition OR the volume, but not both. I think I've solved that delimma, at least for me.
I've been using the buxom Lush mascara and I like the way it stays on, but the formula tends to clump a little, especially when building volume by applying additional coats. I though I'd give the BE definition mascara a try, but really wanted to amp up the volume, which was always a problem in the past since the formula was a little too wet. I had this idea to get both the definition and volumizing formula and try them separately as well as together. Now I've figured out my magic combination.
I start by applying one good coat of definition mascara and brushing through with a clean brush to arrange my lashes. Next I added 1 to 2 coats of the volumizing mascara which builds the volume, but on a nicely set and defined base. Voila! The perfect combination (at least for me).
I also love the way it seems to last all day and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes with yucky ingredients.
It seems a little more expensive initially, but it pans out since you have 2 tubes to go through rather than one. If you want to give it a try, I'd suggest going to a BE boutique if possible and playing around before committing to the extra expense. Hope this helps.

Does this product come with any type of applicator and if so what type?
I would only purchase this product if it had a powder pad/puff applicator and it wasn't a fly away mess like some of the other BM compacts. Those that don't come with an applicator seem to fly all over the place and make a mess with a brush. Interested but skeptical.
Top 100 Contributor
No it just comes as shown in the picture. I purchased a small travel set of brushes from Eco Tools since they're good quality, Eco friendly and a little lower in price range. I use the small powder looking brush that comes in the kit. It's maybe about 3-4 inches or so with enough handle to grasp and small enough for travel. BM has some small Kabuki brushes but their handles are too small for my taste and I prefer a less expensive travel brush since it might get damaged or stolen.

The kit I purchased from Ulta is called the Eco Tools Mini Essentials Set for about $6, but they also have some sets with Kabuki brushes as well.

Hope this helps! Good luck :)

I have normal to somewhat oily these days and I love the finish. It looks and acts just like the Original loose Mineral Veil for me. I have used it when my face was sun burnt recently and really dry and it seemed to do great then also. Seems to be pretty universal as a finishing powder to me.

Hope this helps! Good luck :)

Which color would be best for me ? I'm bare Carmel 14 and there is no color range guide.
I would like to know which color suits me to avoid a return thank you. Carmel 14 is slightly on the dark side for for me but I love the color the best for my skin color .

Not sure, but if you call the BM customer line and use the option for Beauty Advice (I think that's what the prompt says anyway) then they can try to help you over the phone. Or you can stop in to a Boutique or a store that carries it and try it in person.

Hope this helps! Good luck :)

What is the life of this product?
At the moment I am using Elf's mineral line, all of their mineral products have a three month life. The mineral powder is only 0.1 oz and with a life of three months, it isn't that bad, considering I ran out of the product within a month and a half. A lot of the other Elf mineral products I use I never finish in three months, Take the mineral eye liner for example, it looks like a large crayon, I am going on my third month with it and haven't even used half of it, I use eyeliner everyday.
Top 100 Contributor
That would depend on how much and how often you use it. If you use the mineral veil from BM I'd compare the weight with that of the loose if you're used to using it. Otherwise, it's going to depend on the individual. Give it a try and if you don't think it lasts long enough send it back for a refund or an exchange. BM is pretty good about their returns.

Hope this helps. Good luck :)

Can this be used with the powder minerals foundation, or just the new liquid foundation?
Can this be used with the powder minerals foundation, or just the new liquid foundation?
Top 100 Contributor
I used this with both and it seemed great for either. I use the original foundation typically but have been trying the bare foundation recently and I thought it worked just like the original MV. It seems to have the exact same finish as the loose just in a pressed powder. Whereas the Ready formula is somehow different and for many people, myself included the texture just seems to cake up. Best way to tell is just to give it a try and decide for yourself. If you don't love it you can send it right back.

How sheer is this finishing veil?
Judging from the online pics, I think that in the summer, when I tan a little more (Bare Natural 07), I would be in between shades, especially if this powder has a lot of coverage or color. Bare Linen 03 is the shade that fits me in the winter, so would the lighter shade work all the time?
Top 100 Contributor
Hi Cierra

In my opinion this is the exact same finish as my loose original mineral veil. I didn't notice any color, but I'm also very porcelain. However, I did use this just after a trip when my face was very sun burnt and I was trying to conceal the redness. I don't think this gave a white ghostly finish at all. If you're unsure of the color stop in and try them both out. If you go with one and it doesn't work swap it out for the other.

Give it a try and if you don't love it just send it back for a return. My guess is, you'll probably keep it and order more.

Hope this helps!

What's the size of the container?
I'm curious if what is sold online is the size of a BE eyeshadow or a BE foundation?
Top 100 Contributor
I'm not sure about the weight or volume, but mine is the same as the other Radiance colors. I think the container is the same size as the blush if I'm not mistaken. I want to say my foundation is the same as my mineral veil, but my blush and radiance colors are the same sizes, just a little smaller than the foundation and mineral veil.

If you want the exact weight/volume I'd call the store or CS number.

Hope this helps!

Is this product sparkly?
I love a luminous finish to my make up (think clear radiance or even the original foundation) but do not like sparkle or glitter (think true or tropical radiance). Is the finish of this product luminous or sparkly?
Top 100 Contributor
I don't find this to be sparkly like the Clear Radiance which I wear as well. I haven't tried the Tropical or anything like that, but I think this one is more of a matte finish so to speak.
When in doubt, either stop in a store to try in person or give it a try and return it if you don't like. Hope this helps!

Does this raccoon as the day goes on?
I love almost everything BE makes ACCEPT their mascaras. I find they raccoon over the course of the day. Does this one? I tend to stick to a waterproof drugstore brand and I HATE that. I'm really brand loyal and want to use only BE products....however, I can't find a mascara I like that doesn't end up underneath my eyes in a horrid black smudge. Helpful hints or product suggestions??
Top 100 Contributor
Which product are you referring to? This question popped up under the eye shadows, so I don't know if you're asking about mascara or shadow? I use both from BE and don't have any problems with either their mascaras or their shadows running. I have very sensitive eyes that water a lot and don't have to touch up my eye makeup throughout the day. Give it a try since they have like a 30 day return policy. If there are any stores around you, you should be able to go in with (sometimes without) a receipt and ask for something else. I prefer the shimmer shadows and apply them wet for the foiled technique which lasts better on me since my eyes crease inward quite a bit. I also use the flawless definition and flawless definition volumizing mascaras as well as the new lash domination.

If you have tried these and you're still having trouble, I'd say try the locked and loaded waterproof mascara top coat to prevent your mascara from running. (I've never used this, since I don't need it, but it has good reviews and you can always return it if you don't like it.) Also for the shadow, I'd recommend using an eyelid primer. There are several to choose from so you might want to call the CS to determine which is right for you or stop by a store and talk to them or try it on.

Hope this helps!
