I love this primer
Rating
5 out of 5
5 out of 5
Pros: smooth, light weight, easy to blend
I had been sold on the regular primer, Prime Time, before and bought it. I wasn't exactly floored by it. Don't get me wrong, there isn't anything WRONG with it either, but I didn't feel the need to shout from the rooftops about it either. I have also tried several other primers, all of which do about the same job.
I actually received this in a Mystery box. At first I was like "Great, I ALREADY have 3 primers." and was disappointed that I'd gotten it.... all that changed the first time I used it.
Skin back story - I have "fairly light" shade skin with pink undertones and some red scarring from post acne marks. I am oil T zone as far as skin goes and pretty much any foundation slides off my t zone within a few hours regardless of primer or not.
The first time I used the neutralizing primer I was sort of taken aback by how yellow it came out. After I applied it all over my face I didn't see any "oh wow that's yellow!" remnants of my previous worry. Then I applied my foundation, powder, bronzer, etc as usual and went about my day.
A few hours later I kept STARING at my face in the mirror - my face looked GREAT. Seriously. I was like nah this is a fluke.
I tried the exact same makeup duplication over a week's time with my other primers using ONLY the primer as the differentiating factor and bottom line - the primer made the difference.
I don't know exactly what it is about this primer that makes it different or makes my face look great, but I do know that using this primer on the "test" face of makeup DOES make it look better.
I would definitely buy this again and use it EVERY day!!!!!!

GAME CHANGER!!!!!

Pros: beautiful colors, easy to use
I was hesitant at first to buy this because I own about 5 other bronzers, but I've never found one that I LOVE, probably why I keep buying them - in search of "the one" .... my search is now over. I am IN LOVE with this bronzer kit.
The trio of colors really makes this a no brainer. I blend them all together using the fan brush and apply in the a-typical "3" shape to accent brow bones/cheek bones/jawline. I am VERY fair skinned, most bronzers make me look sort of orange or are too dark. Even the award winning 'warmth' from BE makes me look sorta orange. NOT THIS ONE!!! -- Have no fear my fair skinned ladies, the first resort is here!
My whole purpose in this kit is the bronzer, the lipgloss shade isn't my color of choice. It's not bad per se, I just don't rock coral colors very often. But Im a sucker for the MM glosses in general so I am pleased with it.
The fan brush is fuller than the one I already own and very nice, makes contouring the cheekbones a breeze
Bottom line - i HOPE they keep at LEAST the bronzer trio around as I would buy this again and again... and if you're on the fence about this, don't be - just buy it, you will love it.

I'm borderline obsessed with this lipgloss

Pros: smooth, minty
I am a lip gloss fanatic. I have a drawer full and keep about 8 in my purse at any given time. I LOVE lip gloss.
When I first got this I was sort of appalled at the price tag. Nearly $20 for lip gloss, whaaa?... then I used it. OH MY WORD!
First of all, it goes on SO smooth and the applicator shape is brilliant. It's NOT sticky at all, which I love. The slight tiny hint of mint feels AMAZING on your lips, I will even reach for this gloss before chap-stick! And the colors are GREAT. So many to choose from! The darker colors have good payoff and the lighter ones give great shimmery shine.
I will admit, since I am such a lip gloss junkie and I have so many I rarely finish a tube in a reasonable amount of time..... But the first tube I got is now 3/4 of the way gone in months, THAT is how much I love this gloss!!!

Pros: too dark
I know this is award winning, and I know that it got rave reviews, but I just CANNOT get it to work for my skin tone.
I am fairly light in the original powder, so I am very light skinned and have pinkish undertones.....
I wanted to love this so badly, but for as many months as I've had it I find myself continuously searching for a bronzer that doesn't make me appear so 'orange'. That's the best way I can describe it on my skin tone is orange or 'fake tan' color.
I keep using it only because I bought it and don't like wasting money by throwing things in the trash, but otherwise this color looks blech on me.

Pros: smooth, easy to use, natural looking
I couldn't wait for this to be available on BE so I did order early off QVC ...
Background: I go back and forth between the Ready foundation and a high end BB cream. I like the feel of the powder, but old habits die hard and I love the look of a cream foundation plus the skin care benefits. So when I heard BE was doing a liquid, I had to try it. I am not disappointed....
I love that you can use a few drops and the application brush perfectly to buff this on to your skin. It's very easy to control the application as well as how much goes where, unlike a typical foundation brush. It really does feel like a lightweight serum in texture. I forgot I was wearing it more than a couple times.
Since it is so new I cannot speak to the long term skin benefits, but it's very easy to use and looks very natural on. I have been following it with the mineral veil and AOFC/Radiance powders to achieve that perfect satin finish look.
The only qualms I have so far are that I am Fairly Light in regular foundation, nearly a Medium in the Ready, and I ordered Bare Linen in the serum foundation and it's not a perfect match.... It is an ok match, I could probably go a shade darker, but without being able to get shade matched I took a shot.
Also I am oily T-zone so I do get a bit shiny after a couple hours, but that happens with every foundation I use, it's not just this one. I was just hoping that maybe it wouldn't for some miraculous reason.
So since I can't speak about the long term benefits plus my oily t-zone I did ding it a star, just can't give it full on 5 stars on blind faith alone....
All in all I am very happy and will probably choose this over the Ready and my BB cream for future use
* if you wait til the boutiques get this I would say you should get shade matched. I think what is recommended based off the color guilde-line pictures (QVC) might be slightly off a bit as my shade I bought is a bit too light.

Ok so I bought this SORT of for the claims, but also for the idea that I could wear 'makeup' to bed.... I can't help it, I'm sort of a product junkie lol
So far I really like the product. I got it in translucent as I'm very fair skinned.
I apply this as the very last step in my nightly routine after moisturizer has dried ...
It imparts a slight 'diffusing glow' similar to a very light highlighting powder, so I enjoy that it semi-diffuses my imperfections at bed time.
I do find that when I use this faithfully that my complexion DOES look better in the mornings...... but when I DON'T and I use it sporadically it doesn't make too much of a difference.
So essentially my only gripes are that I have to remember to use it all the time if I want to see a real difference (geeeez lol) and well the holes get clogged and you have to use another brush to clean them out before more product will dispense.
Also if you do use too much it CAN wear/rub off on your sheets. I find when I use apprx 3 disbursements that's not a problem, but if I try to use more than it can wind up on my pillowcases.
Over all I do like the effect that it has with regular usage and would continue to buy it.

Better than it's predecessor....

So this eyeliner is by far better than the round the clock eyeliner that I despise to pieces .... I like it's shape, the precision tip, and the ease of use over all.
Pros: Goes on smoothly and blends well. The precision tip makes smudge lines or cat eye fairly easy. The blender on the end is GREAT - I love this feature & there is a drugstore brand eyeliner that has this feature but this blender shape on this one makes it 100% better than the cheap store version. Initial color payoff is nice.
Con: Well, after 8 hrs I can't reeeeeally tell I'm wearing it, there is a faint smudge shadow reminiscent of my original line but it's faded... so the long wear claim I can't say is totally accurate. Caveat I DON'T wear eye-lid primer, but I don't wear eye lid primer EVER and have other eyeliners that DO last all day and in to the evening (high end brand liner from boutique)
So while I definitely can say the pros outweigh the con, it still has a bit of the same 'wear off' issue I found in the round the clock liner although not as badly I will say that.
Also full disclosure - I was given this product from BM as a freebie.

I read the glowing reviews, all the sales people at the boutique are in love - etc etc etc. BUT, I can NOT apply this mascara with out getting that 'mascara line' on my eyelid riiiiiiiight above my eyelashes.
I have tried applying it several times, and at this point as I am WELL versed in mascara application, I have determined that this mascara is just not for me.
Maybe its my eyelash/lid shape, I have NO clue. All I know is that this mascara didn't do anything that the regular volumizing flawless def mascara did except make smudgey marks on my eyelid I had to go back and remove after application.
Ill stick to my other mascara from BE

I have this lipgloss in the limited edition shade they did for a promo, Fab & Foxy - which is a sparkley light pink.
The reason Im writing this review on the regular lipgloss page is b/c I really like the lipgloss in general, including the color I got.
It has a slight minty tingle and is moisturizing but not sticky - which many glosses can be.
Sure it fades off just as a gloss would, but over all it's easy to apply, feels nice, and doesnt get all sticky yucky like some other glosses. I would buy again.

Not best for use w/ the concealer

Ironic right?
Well since I cant edit my review of the concealer it's self, Ill make a review of the concealer brush which is the tool that made me hate the concealer....
This brush is great for under eyes - NOT great for use w/ the bm concealer. It makes it absolutely hard to cover anything, and does not give a natural finish.. I thought it was the concealer!!!!
Went to the store and the associate told me to use a FULL concealer brush, or even a blending eyeshadow brush to apply the concealer - WHAT a difference!!! I actually bought another pot of concealer, use a full shadow blending brush, and this brush is now reserve for other things than bm concealer.

Questions

I can't find the sizes (wt.# for the individual products IN the palette. Does anyone know if they are #for example# sample sized #wt. of) products?
IE Sample size of the Ready foundation is .01 vs. full sized at .49 (if I remember correctly).

does the brush automatically come with the foundation or is that a seperate purchase?
I just wanted to know will the brush always come with the bottle of foundation or will that be separate purchase and not included in the 29 price?
The brush DOES NOT / will not come with the foundation for the 29 price. The only combo offer was on QVC for the brush and foundation together, and it was more than 29. That price is for foundation alone. I think I remember the BE FB page saying the brush is going to be 19 - but I am not totally sure about that.

Does the Pure Transformation Night Treatment (tinted) rub off on pillows?
I know the descriptions says it should not rub off on linens, but some people have had this happen. Right now I have the Clear, but I was considering after this one to get one with a tint to it. However, I don't want it to all rub off!

Has anyone had this problem? Thanks!
I have the clear color as well and I find that when I use too much it will still rub off on my pillow cases a little so I think thats how it is with any of the colors.....

I think the trick is to use exactly as instructed which (i believe) says to dip brush in product & buff on face apprx 3x.

When i try to dip the brush in product & buff on my face more than that/use more than that i have seen it on my pillowcases.

Mineral Veil
Can this be used BEFORE applying makeup, as a base?
I've had many sales associates at the boutiques suggest using the mineral veil (either ready or original) as a FIRST step before foundation esp if you have oily skin.

I find the original too light. I want to try the tinted but the pictures shows two very different colors.Which is closest to the actual product.
Will the color be too dark? I use medium base color.
If you're referring to the tinted mineral veil then the picture makes it look darker than it actually ends up being on your face.

I mix mine with a little AOFC bare radiance and it's perfect - I use fairly light foundation.

Is the brightener a white or clear liquid or is my applicator faulty?
The first time I used the brightener, a white liquid came out on the brush. The five days since, no matter how many times I turn the base, it appears nothing is coming out.... or it's a clear liquid.

Is it clear, am I doing something wrong or did I get a faulty applicator.
That is how my product is as well. I think this is intended to be a face 'illuminator' type product instead of an under eye conceal/highlight product #which is how it is advertised# which lends itself to the more white/neutral colored product.

bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation - Fairly Medium
bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation - Fairly Medium
bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation

application
How do I apply the new solid foundation? What tool do I use?
I have a similar version to their new brush that they came out with for this product. It's a very dense powder brush with a flat end - not rounded and fluffy like the original brush.

You place the brush on the compacted powder, then 'dab' it on your face (repeat until face is sufficiently 'covered' with the powder) - THEN buff in with that same brush. It's similar to the original foundation application in the 'buffing' of the powder, however the initial application is slightly differently. You don't swirl or tap it - you essentially are 'pressing' it on and THEN buffing it.

As mentioned, I found a very very dense powder brush with a flatened end works the best.
