I have this in the original, untinted loose powder. In the READY Veil, I purchased the tinted. In the Original Foundation I use Golden Dark and in the READY foundation, I use Warm Deep (the Golden Dark in the READY foundation runs too light for me so I had to go a shade up). The original loose powder veil and the tinted READY veil both work for me. I don't touch up during the day because not only am I so busy, but touching up in between in my line of work is barely an option unless I am able to leave work for lunch lol. I like how I look so clean, vibrant and set for the day. I use the veil as my last step in my makeup process. Not sure why this has low ratings, but I think it's wonderful. The key is not to glob this stuff on your face. If you do, then yeah...you're going to look cakey and unbalanced. If you use a little at a time and blend it out (swirl tap buff for the original powder and tap and buff for the READY veil) then you won't have a problem.

Great for Adding Hydration to Lipsticks
Rating

The reason why I say it's hydrating for lipsticks is that this Cheesecake color is very neutral. In a sense, I would have to say it's clear (for my skin tone). For someone with fair skin or light skin perhaps, Cheesecake may give you a little tint to your lips. I have Golden Dark skin, so this looked clear on me. So if I have a lipstick, I would apply this first and then the lipstick color to keep from getting colors mixed into my lip gloss. I'm not much of the mixing type. I like to keep my colors separate except perhaps for eyeshadows which are blendable. All in all, I really like this neutral lip gloss. Very safe for work too, just be sure not to load it on.

My review is on the bronze and I have a Golden Dark skin tone (Warm Deep for the READY foundation). I figure this would look okay against my skin tone. I'm sort of wishing I had gotten the other one, but you really can't tell until you get the product. The lip liner, when you first use it, feels sharp as a tack so be sure to soften it some before you use it. The lipstick looks hydrating, but I put it on and I don't know if it's because of my ethnicity or what, but my lips were nice and soft, no dryness or crust on them and I put on the lipstick and the lipstick feels drying. You know how you put on lipstick and you see little "bits" of lipstick scattered on your lips? I can't stand that. It's a pet peeve of mine. I want smooth, flawless application no matter if it's gloss, lipstick or balm. If it doesn't go on smooth, it has to go unless I can find a way to make it work. Balms are tougher because those are hydrating, but can still leave bits on your lips if there isn't a smooth surface on the balm to apply it. For example, if you push a regular store lip balm down or turn the dial all the way down, the stick pops out from the center. Now you have a gaping hole and it's no longer a smooth surface. Therefore it skips, applies to some of your lip and misses areas again so you still have bits scattered on your lips. I suggest applying my all time favorite 100% Natural Lip Gloss that comes in this trio first so that you have some lubrication to your lips and then apply the lipstick if you want the lipstick on. Personally, I like the gloss by itself. I'm all about gloss. It hydrates my lips and since I just moved to Ohio, the weather has been frigid. We just had a blizzard hit Christmas night so it was important that I keep from looking washed out. All together, which is rare for me, I have to give this a 3 because I like the lip gloss because it's my favorite style of lip gloss. The lipstick I don't want to touch unless I put on a sheer or nude lip gloss and then apply the lipstick to give it life. As for the lip liner, that's a bonus, but I haven't used lip liner since before High School, so if I use it, I use it and if I don't, I don't. This didn't knock it out of the park for me. I love Bare Escentuals, but the sharp lip liner and drying lipstick was a downer for me. I have had a lipstick before I think it's called Red Zen and it was very hydrating and I had no problems with it at all. So perhaps the formula to make this lipstick is affecting it or maybe the climate of where I live now is affecting me, I'm not sure. This just didn't fully do it for me. I can use all the items, but probably not as much as all of my other makeup items.

I love how the cream feels on my skin versus the moisturizer. I feel the moisturizer, even though I was using the one for combination skin which is what I have, I looked greasy a little and I was using it after a shower to prep me for makeup application later on. The cream is wonderful though. It's lightweight and I like to put it on at night after I've cleaned my face off.

I really enjoy these small "Wonder Brushes". They're very soft, I'm loving the synthetic bristles. They're soft on my skin and less irritating. I'm not saying the original brushes aren't good, but THESE brushes just FEEL good. The little purse it comes with is amazing. I really do love it and you'll fall in love with it too. I have another set of brushes that are the same kind of bristles as these so I'll tell you how to use the biggest brush with the Original Foundation and also the READY Foundation in case anyone is curious. You need to make sure your foundation brush is straight up and down and swirl if you're using your loose powder. The brush is so soft, you may have a little trouble being able to really "glide" around the bare minerals top like you would with the animal hair brushes. For example, when you swirl, tap and buff with the animal hair brushes, it's easier and your really get your makeup in the brush faster. With the softer brushes, they're so soft, the makeup has no trouble at all getting onto your brush so don't lay on the powder foundation in great amounts. The soft bristles Mini Masters has will get what you need and apply it how it should be applied. Now...when using these soft brushes with the READY foundation, just like with the Precision Angled Face Brush, you want to tap and buff. Mini Master's bristles are really soft so when you tap, you really are getting a good amount. I tap about 2-3 times for each side of my face. I don't prefer FULL full coverage because I work with children (moving to another state soon so this may change soon) and usually a FULL full coverage is when I moisturize, prime my face, concealer and use the whole eye palette to the fullest (if it's a READY 2.0, 4.0 or 8.0 eye color palette). I had so much BE product (loose eye colors practically new and brushes I didn't use) I gave them away to my soon to be nieces (I'm engaged) and also to my mom...and I STILL have a lot of makeup by BE. It's all I use and all I will ever use as long as they keep making them! As back up, I still have my 2 Handy Buki Brushes, my Angled Face Brush which I used to use for Blush but now use for Bronzer and also my Flawless Face Brush. You never know when you need a backup brush for going on trips and you don't want to bring your home run Hollywood style makeup and tools that you're afraid you may lose or misplace lol.

I have Golden Dark skin and I'm a Warm Deep in READY Foundation. This works for me. I recently received my Maximum Coverage Face Brush so I can spread this faster around my eyes, nose and the two acne scarred areas of my face. I REALLY need this around my eyes because I have dark circles.

I have a Golden Dark skin tone. Yes, this does show up a little lighter than it usually does, but if you blend it in well, it's not too bad. Less is more so you don't want to add 50 layers because you feel it didn't buff away what you wanted it to. I love how you can tap the brush in and buff into the skin versus the time wasting swirl tap and buff application. I still like the swirl tap and buff application, but it's so much better knowing you can tap a little and buff getting the same results. Another tip....The Precision Face Brush is SO nice...and the retractable Precision Face Brush. Both are really soft and not like the Goat Hair brushes that are soft, but are straw-like and are more receptive to shedding. The Precision Brushes are made of synthetic fibers (Taklon I think). It's soft, non-irritating and makes makeup application easier, more enjoyable and my makeup even looks better because I've used BE brushes that have the synthetic hairs on them. You can even tell in the pictures if they're synthetic or the original brushes that seem to shed.

I had this before and returned it because I didn't know how to use it because it was shimmery and I felt like a fish out of water trying to apply it and figure it out. Once I saw Leslie demonstrate how to apply this, it became clear that I made a mistake returning it. I just received The Pleasure Trip with the brush which I ordered from Leslie's TSV on QVC from a little over a week ago. How you use this is that you tap the brush lightly into the product, you apply it just above the cheek bone, a little at the outer corner of the eye and slightly above the eye brow. Next, rub your finger a little into the product and swipe it right down the bridge of your nose which gives your face a nice glow (I would say similar to the All Over Face Color Pure Radiance). The application to the bridge of the nose is basically to shape and define the face. These instructions, if I said it correctly, is how it's supposed to be used. It's how I've been applying it to my face so I paid special attention to it just to be sure I could pass it along to others who weren't sure just how to apply it. You can also use this as eyeshadow! It makes a really beautiful eyeshadow. You don't want to use this all over your face. It's meant to enhance certain areas of your face. Here is my makeup routine (give or take a little of the steps) if it helps you all with your makeup routines:
Primer
READY or Dark Bisque (best coverage for me) Concealer
Original Foundation or READY Foundation
All Over Face Color
READY Blush
Original Eyelid Primer
READY Eyeshadow
Brushless Mascara
Stroke of Light Eye Brightener OR Luminizer
100% Natural Lip gloss or lip balm

I really like this small set of wonder. I LOVE the lip color this set offers. The 100% Natural Lip gloss is wonderful. It doesn't leave that nasty white residue on the inside of my lips like some department store lip balms. It keeps my lips moisturized, soft and the gloss isn't too overbearing. :-)

What is the size of the Love Radiance?
Just wondering what size is the Love Radiance and the eye color?
Number One Contributor
Number One Contributor
I'm not sure off the top of my head. I'm not near my product at the moment to find out. I do know the Love Radiance is a full size (imagine your original foundation jar). The eye colors are slightly bigger than a sample size jar. A sample jar is very small, then a medium jar would be the eye color or small concealer jar and the bigger jar would be the original foundation jar or radiance jar. The biggest jar is usually the Deluxe which is sometimes available as a special.

Go to BareEscentuals.com. At the top, you will see "Learn". Hover your mouse over it and then you will see "Tips and Advice". Under that you will see "Foundation Finder". Click that and get matched. Still not sure? Email Customer Service to contact a representative to help you. I actually submited a profile picture of my face, no makeup and in good lighting so that I could be matched properly. I had been using the wrong shade for years. I thought I was Medium Deep when really I was Golden Dark in the original powder and Warm Deep in the READY foundation. All because I submitted my picture to get matched properly. I haven't looked back since. Hope this helps.

How do you use Benzoyl Peroxide 10?
Do you use this with other products?
Number One Contributor
Number One Contributor
Apply Benzoyl Peroxide 10 to the infected area (the pimple). Spot treat the area with your finger or if you prefer, a q-tip. Make sure you sleep face up at night to give air to the infected area. The product will create a pasty, drying effect which is normal. Benzoyl Peroxide 10 is designed to dry out the greasiness of the pimple to reduce the size and redness and then eventually with time, eliminate it.

I need to order mineral veil. I love the ready foundation but do you use it over or under your foundation?
Do you use ready mineral veil over or under your foundation? If I wear ready foundation do you need to use the ready mineral veil or the regular?
Number One Contributor
Number One Contributor
Mineral Veil is used after your whole makeup process is completed. Here is my makeup routine (give or take depending on what I have time for in the morning before work or before going out):

1. Moisturizer (I suggest the Purely Nourishing Cream for Dry Skin. It's excellent)
2. Primer
3. Concealer (loose or READY)
4. Foundation (loose or READY)
5. Eyelid Primer (bright or original)
6. Eyeshadow (2.0, 4.0, 8.0 or loose powder)
7. Mascara (Volumizing or Brushless)
8. Blush (loose or READY)
9. Luminizer (or All Over Face Colors i.e. Warmth, Pure, Clear, Rose, etc.)
10. Veil (loose/tinted original or READY)

Hope this helps.

Usually products show the ingredients in the description. Here is a list of the ingredients of this product:

Poly(C20-28 Olefin), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydroxystearic Acid, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Flavor (Aroma), Tocopheryl Acetate, Citral, Linalool, Limonene. May Contain (+/-): Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090).

If you're not sure what is a fragrance or what's fragrance free, contact Customer Service. They're great at answering questions. They even helped me match up to my correct foundation color for the original foundation and also for the READY foundation.

Is this lipstick suppose to be this dry and not to great smell?
I don't like the lipstick. I got natural and it turns superdark on my lips. It is very dry and smells bad. Is this an outdated product or is it actually to be this way?
Number One Contributor

Hello there. I believe you are talking in reference to the Natural Trio. I have Bronze and recently received the Natural. I totally know how you feel about the super dry lipstick. The Bronze lipstick is the same way. I used to have a lipstick called Red Zin and it was super hydrating and didn't look awful again my Golden Dark skin tone and usually I don't go for a red lip, but I went for it anyway. Here is what I have done to get the lipstick to seem less hydrating: First off, the lip liner is tough as nails, so soften that up a little. For me, I don't use lip liner much (kind of out of style depending on how you use it). Then, I put on the lipgloss because you don't want the lip color to mix with the lip gloss at the end. Lastly, put on the lipstick...this way the hydration of the lipgloss lingers on the lipstick. Since the gloss is on the lipstick, if it's still there the next time you use the lipstick, the less drying effect you have to deal with. The Bronze trio was drying too. I HAD to add the gloss before the lipstick or else I get a dry mess.

bareMinerals READY Blush - The One

Sparkles?
Is this blush sparkly or just a matte color?
Number One Contributor
Number One Contributor
READY Blush is Matte. Eyeshadows (sheen, shimmer and high shine eye colors) are the ones with a sparkle effect to it. My fav READY blushes are The Tease which is good for daytime or afternoon and The French Kiss which is good for going out at night or to dress up your look a little more. I have Golden Dark skin, so the french kiss gives me just the color I need and each time I buff the color onto my face, it's like I'm amping up the color even more, but it's amped up gradually and not dramatically which I can really appreciate. The Whisper is VERY sheer and I would suggest that color for fair skinned complexions. On my skin, The Whisper doesn't show up hardly at all unless I were to really lay on layer after layer. Once you narrow down what blushes work for you day, afternoon, night or one for all occasions, it will really mature your makeup application experience and routine.

Perfect Bronze or Natural for Golden Dark Complexion?
Unfortunately I'm not able to get to a boutique to try these colours on myself (away from home for the holidays!)

I'm interested in buying the Perfect Bronze set for myself, as my BE foundation is 'Golden Dark' (sometimes Medium Dark) and am concerned that the Perfect Natural would look to pink against my skin. For extra info about myself, I'm 18-24 and would be mostly wearing this for work. Can anyone give me some advice on which one I should get (if either)?
Number One Contributor
Number One Contributor
I'm Golden Dark, Warm Deep if it's the READY foundation. I bought the bronze. It's okay, but probably too bronze for work. The lipstick is drying, the lip liner is sharp as a tack so you have to soften that first before using it. I haven't tried the Natural because just like you, I thought it would be too pink against my skin or make my lips look dry. I'm wishing I had the natural just so that I could see how it would look. I guess if it doesn't sell out, I could ask for it for Valentine's Day and have my fiance order it for me or I can get it myself if I can land a job before then lol. I know how you feel though. The bronze lipstick isn't good for work I don't think...the lip gloss is better as long as you don't load it on.

Does the new Blemish Therapy have the horrible smell of sulfur?
I bought some blemish therapy and have only been able to wear it a few times because of the smell. It smells horrible of sulfur (or whatever it is). I keep putting it on and think maybe it wont smell so bad this time..but it always ends up smelling BAD. So I was wondering if anyone knew if the new stuff had the same smell or if it smells better. :)
Thanks!

Some people have said it smells a little, but goes away or doesn't bother them. If you need a new way to treat blemishes, try md Formulation's Benzoyl Peroxide. you spot treat it and then it will leave a whitish dried up paste on your face, but that's why you spot treat. You don't wash it off so when this stuff dries it's normal. You just have to let it sit overnight to help your skin out.

This product is smaller at 0.03 oz. Remember this is to spot treat and not an all over face treatment. So even though the product isn't much, it's just the right amount for the breakouts you need to take care of.
