Who was the first great "MAVERICK" ?

This lip gloss is just as charming, sexy, and kissable as Tom Cruise in his role as Maverick in "Top Gun"!! The true color is not reflected in the display above. It's a warm, rich rose with a hint of brown. A real color for real lips! A perfect color for a red head! The shine is fabulous, and lasts a long, long time. I haven't had the chance to give it the "kissing" test, but if any one knows where Tom can be found, I'd be happy to give it a try and report back to to all BE fans!! Add this color to your permanent list of "Keeper--Must haves"!

Phrases Chosen: confusing!, when and where to stop?, too much "stuff" on my face, still pretty at the end!!
Okay, ladies, I'm confused!! Even after watching the videos, I don't know when to start, blend, and finish!
1) Wash my face and pat dry.
2) Apply Rev-er Upper or moisturizer? Eye cream?
3) Apply foundation primer.
4) Apply eye primer and concealers.
5) Apply Pure Brightening serum foundation---or Mineral powder foundation--or both using the serum as a "BB" pre-foundation.
6) Apply Blush, Radiance, and/ or Luminescence.
7) Lightly dust with Mineral Veil, as a finishing touch?
Good grief!! I loved Bare Minerals in the beginning because it was so simple and fast!! Moisturize--Foundation--Blush, Mineral Veil, and a kiss of Radiance or Luminescence for night time. Three minutes to pure Beauty! And 3-4 minutes to play with eye makeup and a whisper of lip color (naturally!!) Am I turning a simple process into a chemistry project? Or am I still stuck in the 60's? What happened to tap, swirl, and blend? I love all of the new products, from skin care to luminescence, but have you stopped to count the number of foundation colors you produce? And from product line, to product line, none of the colors have the same name!! Could we please go back to to the more simple times. You have a great product, don't mess it up by confusing your customers!!

I received this several years ago, and haven't seen it since. So I am delighted to see it make a come back! I love these colors and love to experiment with them. However, I too, have an issue with the packaging. Over the years, and no matter carefully I tried, the "swivel" top didn't work well and the colors do spill into the top and make a mess. Mine are pretty well mixed now, which does not prevent it's use, they just cannot be used as separate highlighter/low lighter. Now that it's available again, I will purchase it again. But I think I will pour each color into a clean, empty pot of it's own.

Have you ever sat in front of you mirror and said "I wish I had a fairy godmother who could wave her magic wand and make all of these zits disappear!" Well, here's your magic wand (brush) and fairy dust! Feel a pimple coming on? Pat a little of this magic stuff on it at first sight and bed time. You'll wake up starting to say bye-bye to that nasty bump! Some complain about an odor, but I don't notice it. This is a miracle in a jar! You will love the results!

I'm Very disappointed in the new brow pencils! What are these colors?? Not well suited for redheads! My brows are thinning, and these pencils make me look like I've been playing in mommy's makeup! For now I'm mixing Warmth with a little bit of dark blonde/medium brown brow powder I found in the bottom of my makeup bag. I'm playing with Warmth and brown shadows too. Please bring back the powders. They were the ONLY thing I could use during chemotherapy for cancer and come away from the mirror looking natural and normal! I shared that little secret with all of my "chemo chums" are we were(and still are) lovely! The powders look so much more "real". Please, please, please bring them back!!

Please!! Go back into your magic lab and whip up more of these kits! I must have one to survive this autumn! What a true marriage of beauty--from natural tones to dramatic shades. You've created the most fantastic collection of colors suited for everyone, everyday, every night! (Oh, I might pick up a darker lip color for special nights.) Otherwise, this is perfect! Please create more before the holidays arrive! I'll sit on the sidewalk, outside the store, in the snow, to be first in line for the next batch of "Power Neutrals"!

There was a time in my life when I was facing (no pun) many challenges and obstacles to over come. Some little voice whispered "let's try this" as I was looking at a BE display. I was pretty convinced while watching a TV program about the products, any way. Took my bag full of goodies home, and felt like a kid at Halloween! I loved it all from start to end. ( I became an eye shadow junkie.) Everyone kept telling me how wonderful I looked. I felt wonderful! The biggest surprise: I had started radiation and chemotherapy for breast cancer at the same time! I even wore my makeup into all five of my surgeries, and most of the doctors couldn't tell. I've been healthy since 2007, and am still using this product line! Turning 60 didn't even bother me! Try it! Believe in it! Stay beautiful no matter what the future may bring you!

I love these colors, and found the tutorial extremely helpful. DO NOT try this when you don't have a lot of time, and definitely PRACTICE before your big night out!
The eyeliner can be really messy, if you have too much on the brush, or use it dry. I got some on my cheek, tried to brush, then rub it off--finally had to wash my face 3 times and people still ask if I had a black eye. Use teeny bits & blend. You can always add more, but this stuff is meant to stay on, no matter how long you dance all night! Using it wet to line your eyes gives great results! The little patch of light sparkle shadow in the middle of your eyelid adds magic! Try it, practice it, love it!!

Sorry, but this just isn't my style. I agree with the above comment, Katy's voice would be terrific for a lullaby or children's songs. The song's quiet, soothing, melody reminds me of brushing on a little Mineral Veil with a puffy, soft brush. "Ah, I'm done now and I'm perfect!" Give the name of the song to an eye shadow! Something in the pale blue or lavender family. I don't think it's your theme song, but it's a pretty little tune.

Is this foundation professional grade and HD compliant?
It has been to my knowledge that neither minerals nor SPF are camera friendly, so I believe I already know that answer to this question. But due to those ingredients, will I receive a flashback in photos or would you suggest this for brides? Or you would honestly suggest a professional foundation better suited for photography.

Thank you.
Top 100 Contributor
Dear Bride,
You'd be surprised how many makeup artists use Bare Escentuals with the SPF for professional photography! Especially bridal photos! Bare Escentuals makes your skin look soft, smooth, and radiant! You will never look oily, shiny, or sweaty! The color selection is awesome, and can be started with soft, natural colors for day time, and as the evening begins, you can "smoke" your eyes and brighten your lips, dance all night, and look gorgeous in every photo! Both of my daughters, their bridesmaids, and the Moms and Grandmothers had Bare Escentuals applied by professional makeup artists. Even our little flower girls were allowed a touch of lip gloss and clear Radiance was used on their eyelids and cheeks. We all looked so perfect! Many guests noted the "family resemblance", ask if the brides, maids, and Moms were models. Many said the Grandmothers and Moms looked too young to have bridal daughters! Most of all, the brides were radiant, beautiful, and looked so in love! This makeup can't make you look "in love", but since you are, it can enhance that magic glow and help it shine through your eyes, not on you nose and cheeks! Try a practice session with an artist familiar with the products. You won't regret it!

Noncomedogenic?
I know that mineral foundations are notorious for settling in each and every pore you have, that can cause breakouts. Is it noncomedogenic?
Top 100 Contributor
NONE of these products get into your pores! They seem to float on your skin, and still create great coverage. They are all known to be non-comedogenic. If you have a pore problem, I can highly recommend BE's facial primer for oily skin, even if you don't wear foundation. And use the Deep Cleansing face wash. If you are pimple prone, try the Blemish treatment--it's a miracle in a pot! If I sound a bit defensive, I'm sorry. But these products are fabulous for my previously oily, deeply pored, blemish prone face. Many swear BE products have helped their skin, I know I do!!

How do your foundations work with freckles?
I don't want my freckles to disappear as they do with some foundations. Is that a risk with this type of foundation in your brand?
Top 100 Contributor
Absolutely not! You are in control of how much coverage you achieve. Swirl, Tap, and Blend like crazy! You can cover birthmarks, circles under your eyes, or a blemish that's earned it's own zip code, if needed. But never fear, you can blend your foundation down to an angel's kiss, and those freckles will look just as sweet as they did when you were three. Enjoy!
