Thank you, Bare Minerals, for listening to us!

Pros: thank you bm for listening!
As a lover of the Big and Brights, I was very upset when I found out they had been discontinued. I was lucky to live an hour from an outlet and stocked up and, thankfully, still have some!!! I tried the Round the Clocks and HATED them. Because of medications for an illness, I don't have a steady hand and the Round the Clocks are so unforgiving... And they aren't meant to smudge... I have some in my vanity with the plastic still on them that I can't give away. I don't personally know anyone who likes them. When I received this black Lasting Line in the mail to try, I stared at it on my vanity for a week or so. It is hard to part from the Big and Brights that I love. But I have three Lasting Lines now and purposely waited a few months to give it an honest review. I can say I do still prefer the Big and Brights, but I feel that this eye liner is more of an in between (very close to the B&B) the B&B and the RTCs. These seem to be softer and creamier than the B&B, but still has the smudger and comes with the sharpener built in. These smudgers are softer and shaped differently, having the point makes them easier to use. I have the Absolute Black, Always Charcoal and Lasting Brown. I, now, won't cry when my B&Bs run out and change to another brand for eyeliner because I seriously was going to before when I used and only had the option of the Round The Clocks. Those are some of the poorest reviewed products on the site and I am SOOO happy Bare Minerals listened to us. Please, in the future, if it isn't broken, don't fix it!!! If you want to introduce a product and try new things, please don't discontinue a popular and highly rated product until you KNOW you have come up with something better because WE have told you it is better. And why must you only offer one type of eyeliner and several types of mascara? Why can't we have the B&B AND the Lasting Lines???

Pros: totally different than what i expected
I have used BM foundation for two years now, both in the loose and compact forms. Literally, for 20 years I didn't wear make-up and before that I wouldn't wear foundation. In middle school and high school, my BFF/cousin and I would hit the make up counters at the malls and try a lot of different things as most teens do. I could NEVER understand what the big deal about make-up was. I HATED it. At the time, we lived in a humid climate and I often found liquid foundations would settle in my creases, not go on smoothly, felt like masks on my face, felt thick and heavy, and when I would sweat (like during PE or walking to and from school), I would have streaks running down my face and would often need to do touch ups. It just felt like too much work. Two years ago, a friend dragged me kicking and screaming to a BM counter and I have been in love ever since. I have invested in more BM make-up in two years than I have all the make up in my life times 100. I only wear BM. Several weeks ago, my cousin called me and said I had to try this new Bareskin and I said NO. I am happy with the powder, I have plenty of it actually, I despise liquid foundations (understatement) and there is NO point. She didn't give up. Sigh. Basically, to keep her quiet I went down to my local BM counter and figured it wouldn't hurt, I had to grab something else I was out of anyway. First, you do need to be color matched. The outside color of the bottles do not quite match what is actually inside... Second, this isn't "liquid" foundation which really messed with my head. It comes out like a liquid on to the applicator brush, and a little goes a long way. But it isn't cold, like most liquid foundations are. I can't feel it at all when it touches my skin. Once I start to apply it in large circular motions, it almost immediately turns into this powder type formula that is very easy to blend. It is easy to layer and apply more or less as needed depending on what type of coverage you want, just like the powder. What I DO like about this versus the powder is that it isn't as "messy". It doesn't seem to get in my hair line as I try and get it up near my hair as I don't have bangs and wear my hair up a lot. This also means I don't have the extra powder all over my vanity or bathroom counter, like with the dry foundation. That is a bonus. The bottle is travel size so you can carry it on, which is nice. I travel a lot. I tend to have very rosy cheeks which I use Stroke Of Light to help conceal and this foundation seems like it covers well with out me having to use the SOL on my cheeks. The powder would sometimes get a little too heavy if I wasn't careful so I had to use the concealer or SOL sometimes on my cheeks. I really hated to admit that I liked this product. I ended up buying it and bringing it home to play with it to see if it would settle in my creases, how it would handle wear after 12 hours, sweating, etc. Sometimes I fly and have to change planes two and three times and do not have time to touch make up and I really don't want to... I want to look just as good after a 10 hour day in airports as I do if I had a relaxing day. This product, surprisingly for a "liquid" has held up. I had to call my cousin and tell her she was, ahem, right and that I do, ahem, like it and it is a, stomping my feet now, life changing product. I never thought I would use this type of product on my face. Ever. I was the BIGGEST skeptic. So if you haven't tried it, go down and get matched and have someone show you how to apply it. Get a sample first (or buy the full size) and give it a good, honest try. I will still use my powder foundation as I love it, but I will use this, too. It is great to have options. There are times that BM will put out a product that I don't need or won't use or just don't like and I am pretty honest about it. But I honestly didn't WANT to like this foundation and I do, and I think that says a lot about it.

Pros: creamier than earlier primers
I have several tubes of other primers because they came in different kits that I got during 12 hour sales... Those primers in the tubes never dry out and seem to last a long time... I recieved a sample of this new primer while out of state on vacation. My nearest boutique is an hour away at home and our hotel happened to be across the street from one so I ran over to grab my free sample on the way to a dinner reservation. It came with out instructions or even an explanation of what it was exactly. I first applied it thinking it was an eyeshadow and I was completely turned off. I do not like any type of liquid make up on my face and I couldn't figure out the purpose of a liquid eyeshadow... I have taken the dry, loose powders and foiled them but obviously this no where near that texture or look. Once I got back home and researched and figured out it was supposed to be a "primer", I said "OOOOHHHH"... Sigh. I am not really happy with the long way around trying to figure this product out. Once I started applying it as a primer, it worked much better and I will use it as a primer. I hope that this type of container will keep the product from drying out as you still don't need a lot of product as it goes a long way. This product seems thinner and creamier than the old primers. With 6 tubes of the other primer in my drawer and now a sample and a brand new .07 container of Soft Linen that came in a kit, I have eye primers coming out my ears... I never had any complaints with the old primers and I don't have any complaints with this one either. I think it would just be based on preference of application. The old primers I used my fingers where this one I CAN use a brush, which is nice. One thing I do LOVE about BM is that their products last.

Pros: lovely
I picked this up while out of state and shopping at one of the boutiques. It smells wonderful and the consistency is liked whipped butter, although it isn't greasy at all. It smells so good. I have it sitting on my nightstand and I used it almost every night.

Pros: very happy with my purchase!
I bought this during a 12 hour sale and this set was extremely nice. It came in this cute gift gold gift box that you can sit up on your vanity/bathroom counter. I wasn't expecting that. The eye colors are full size and the lip glosses are perfect to carry in my purse. There isn't a color that I won't wear. Very happy with my purchase!

Too soft and messy

Pros: a mess
This eyeliner is way too soft and a mess to put on. You have to have a very steady hand... once I get it on, I look like an 8 year old put on my eyeliner. It is too soft and makes it hard to make clean lines. I LOVED the old liner that came with the smudger. I will throw this out and go back to using the old ones. I actually stocked up at an outlet I was at a few weeks ago. If they don't bring back the old liners before I run out, I will change brands. I refuse to buy or use these anymore.

What is the best way to apply?
What are you using to apply this? Fingers, brush,or sponge?
I use my fingers and hands. Not sure if it would go on well using a brush or sponge. I use it n my feet, legs, elbows and arms, etc.

How do I get more pencil out????
I have purchased a similar (perhaps a previous version) product in the past, but just purchased two of these (one in the purple, one in the midnight), and can't figure out how to get more pencil out! On my old one, it twists, but on this one I can't find any twist or any way to get more pencil. I've been using it for a week and it appears to be done?!
I loved the old ones that twisted. The new ones require you to sharpen them with an eyeliner sharpener.
