Papaya is the perfect summer blush
Rating
5 out of 5
5 out of 5
Papaya is my go-to blush for the summer. None of my regular blushes seemed to look that great with my summer skin tone and I tried many other colors to no avail. Then I received Papaya in a kit and it is perfect! It's a peachy-rose color with a hint of coral. Doesn't go on as orange as it looks in the pot either. Not too red or brown and looks fabulous with a tan. It takes me from day to night in summer and I like pairing it with Faux Tan as a bronzer for a tropical look. Also goes well with bright or metallic eyeliner colors like teal, green, purple, or navy that sometimes can be hard to find blushes for that won't compete.
Please don't discontinue this one BE as it is perfect for skin tones that a lot of the regular blush colors don't suit. One of my fave blush colors for sure.

Great tangerine color; overpowering smell
Rating
4 out of 5
4 out of 5
Was excited to give the new lip sheers a try as I was hoping they were like the Best Friend lip balm from the Love & Happiness kit. Had trouble deciding which shade as they were all pretty, and decided to go with Tangerine Trance.
As for the good, the color was great and I liked the product itself. It adds a kiss of color to your lips and the tangerine wasn't an overly bright or saturated color. The tint was flattering and would work on lots of people even though most would shy away from an orange shade.
As for the bad, the smell was too overpowering. Most of the lip glosses have some kind of smell when applied, but it goes away in a few seconds. This lingered and I tried to wait it out for the smell too dissipate. Didn't happen and I ended up having to wipe it all off so I wouldn't be subjected to the waft of citrus directly under my nose all day.
If it weren't for the smell (and price), I would gladly have tried the pink and purple color too.

One of those BE must-have kits
Rating
5 out of 5
5 out of 5
Phrases Chosen: perfect, natural, great value, fabulous
Listen up ladies, this is one of those must-have BE kits. If you're looking for something that is suitable to wear anytime or anywhere, or you're not at the age where glitter is flattering on you, then this is the kit to get. All of it is fabulous! Out of all the BE sets I own, this is by far sure to be one I'll get some of the most mileage out of. It is perfect for creating a natural, almost no make-up look and can be worn for anything from an interview to drinks with friends. It can be dressed up or down and combined with other colors or sparkly shades for more glam. Plus it's a great way to get beautiful eyes in a hurry while still looking polished and not overly done. Below is a description of the colors...
Vanilla Sugar: Matte almost skin-toned shade. If you're looking for a very natural, not too red, peachy, or brown, nude-toned shadow, this is the one to get. If I ever entirely use up a BE shadow, this one will definitely be first. I mostly use it to highlight my brow bone and it works for both my winter and summer skin. It's also great as a base color all the way from lid to brow under other shadows. I use it with all colors in my collection from browns, greens, pinks, purples, grays, taupes, blues-- it matches anything. This is perfect for all occasions and settings. A must-have and fave in my collection.
Peach Puff: A matte shade that is peachy with the faintest hint of red/orange undertones. Normally those shades don't work on my skin tone, but this one does, especially once I layer the crease color on. Haven't tried it with a tan yet, so think those undertones will look more flattering in summer as they often do. This shade goes on the lid, but depending on your skin tone, could be used all the way up to the brow bone too.
Soft Focus Explore: A matte medium brown. Somewhat black/gray/taupe undertones without any red or orange to it. Perfect for the crease and doesn't go on too harsh or dark. Still looks natural like the rest of the kit. If you love Drama and are looking for a similar color without sparkles, try this. Wish they weren't discontinuing this kit or color.
Fashionista Liner Shadow: A darker brown with faint hints of plum undertones. Again, usually a no on my winter skin, but this works well with the colors in the kit and complements everything beautifully. Will look even prettier with tanned skin. My favorite way to apply this is with an angled liner brush.
The other liners I like to use with this kit are Coffee Bean (on both upper and lower lashes for a more striking or defined look, and Firefly, just on lower lashes with Coffee Bean on the top lashes for a softer look#. Since the shadow colors are so natural, they would also work with colored liners like blue or green for a touch of fun.
To keep it natural, I use Healthy Radiance as a blush. Lots of lip colors will work with this kit, so experiment for the look you want. My favorite to use with this set is Buxom Jessica #a coppery-pink shade).
Only Vanilla Sugar and Peach Puff are available in the regular collection at the time of this review, so grab this while you can. Why this is being discontinued, I don't know as it's one of the best BE kits around. The shadows and liner are all full-sized, plus it comes with three brushes and a DVD, so it's an excellent value for the money. I've already ordered a few more as back-ups and gotten one to give as a gift. It's a new favorite in my BE collection that I'll get a lot of use out of throughout the year.

This is lip balm unlike any other you've ever tried. It's fantastic! The color is pigmented, yet somewhat sheer. A reddish-berry color that also wears well under a gloss (I love to layer it under other colors like Beignet to mix up the color or effect#. Very comfortable to wear, not too greasy or gooey, and applies smoothly.
Got this in the Love & Happiness kit #all of which was awesome!) and this lip balm is just as fabulous as the rest of the kit. Love it! Like all the reviewers there, we're wondering why this isn't a part of the regular collection and we want more of these lip balms in other colors too to call our best friend!

Firefly: loving the name and color

Phrases Chosen: beautiful, coppery
Besides loving the name, I love the color. Got this in a kit and the coppery-brown description would have made me think it's unwearable on my skin tone. (Usually coppers or reddish-based colors aren't.) It's rather pretty and a unique color if you're looking for something different-- not too red at all. Applied dry, it goes on as a light to medium brown with a coppery-bronze sheen. Applied wet, the sheen and color are enhanced. It's not overly bright or dramatic though, and can still easily be worn for day. I like to use this on my lower lash line to prevent raccoon eyes when wearing a darker liner on top. Goes really well on bottom lashes with Coffee Bean liner on the upper lashes.

Soft Focus Explore is awesome

This is listed as Soft Focus, but it's actually Soft Focus Explore for those who may be searching for it. Can't understand why this shade is being discontinued. It's a versatile medium brown color that doesn't have any reddish undertones to it. Perfect for a natural make-up look and a great crease color. It's also matte with no sparkles, so women of any age or any occupation can wear this.
It looks great in the crease with Peach Puff on the lid and Vanilla Sugar on the brow bone. I have been looking for a matte crease color that's natural looking and not too dark or harsh. This suits perfectly and can be dressed up or down. Drama is one of my favorite crease colors, but it has sparkles so isn't always appropriate. This is a fantastic alternative.

Natural looking peach

Peach puff is great for a natural make-up look. It is matte, so it's suitable for all ages and all occasions. It has a very faint hint of warm, almost reddish undertones to it. Normally I can't wear shadows with those tones, but I can get away with this one even on my winter skin. The reddish/warm hues get masked more once I use a crease color with it.
I like to pair it with Soft Focus Explore (a medium, brown hazelnut shade# in the crease and Vanilla Sugar on the brow bone. It looks great with a brown liner like Coffee Bean. For a softer or more natural look, I pair it with Coffee Bean on the upper lid and line the lower lid with Firefly #a coppery/bronze light brown shade). Put on your favorite radiance-- looks awesome with Healthy Radiance and your favorite lip gloss-- whole ensemble is amazing with Buxom Jessica-- and you'll be ready for anything from work to a dinner date afterwards.

Always a fan of the liner shadows. This color is a nice black that has the faintest hint of brown to it. Helps take a bit of the harshness out of it, but still goes on as a black color for fans of dark liner.

If you want to look hot in a hurry, this kit is the way to go. It is neutral enough that it will match almost anything, yet stunning enough for a date or night out. The colors go on as follows:
Prime Time Primer Shadow in Champagne Toast: Just love these primer shadows. They take one extra step out of getting ready since it's a primer and shadow in one. Champagne Toast is a wonderful champagne-taupe shade with a hint of shimmer. Not so sparkly it screams disco and can still be worn during the day. A neutral tone that would look great with many other colors.
Soft Focus Velour Eyecolor: Very nice matte shade that works great in the crease or for adding depth to the outer corner of the eye. Browns normally don't work well on me, but this one is great. A medium shade that's not too red. The matte tone makes it wearable for any occasion.
Mini Big & Bright Eyeliner in Black Coffee: Awesome liner. Great if blacks are usually a no for you, this has some brown mixed in so not quite as harsh. No red or cocoa undertones. Adds the perfect finishing touch to the other colors in the set.
Love this one so much I bought extras. It is the perfect kit to dress your eyes up in a hurry for a sophisticated, yet sexy look. Great alternative to the traditional gray/black smoky eye that can give you a washed out look. This one is more natural and flattering. Pair it with a soft rose blush and a light to medium pink gloss or a nude-toned blush and red lips for some extra wow. This is one great little kit I get a lot of use out of and a definite fave!

Yellows are normally iffy on me, but this one doesn't have too much gold or brown in it, so it works. A very soft and light yellow that blends well; like to use it on the browbone or as a base for other colors. Matte tone, so this is definitely the kind of shade you can wear to work or if you're not a fan of glitter.

Is there a fragrance to this?
I am very allergic to strong fragrances, which is why I am unable to wear the Buxom or plain BE lip balm.
Top 10 Contributor
Yes and it's strong! I wouldn't recommend this for you as I found the smell to linger and couldn't tolerate it. The Buxom and BE lip glosses have a smell when you first apply them, but it goes away. This one stays and is irritating. I found it overpowering and couldn't wear the product.

Can I use Rose Radiance with both Warmth and blush?
Alright, BE users. I'd love some advice. In case it is relevant, I have fair skin with neutral undertones. I use Fairly Light foundation.

I purchased Rose Radiance quite a while ago but rarely use it because I'm worried that I don't know what I'm doing. I read a really excellent explanation on how to use it on this page, so I think that part is solved. Now I am wondering if I can/should use Rose Radiance in coordination with both Warmth and blush. I typically use both Warmth and blush when I apply, although it seems like the Warmth never really shows up. Do any of you folks use all three? Does anyone have an good application tips?
Top 10 Contributor
I think all three would be a bit much. I use the Rose Radiance as a blush in the winter when I have lighter skin and it looks great on its own. It might be okay to use Warmth as a bronzer and Rose Radiance for a blush. Or maybe use Rose Radiance in place of a bronzer and then a blush on the cheeks, but I think that might get a little too rosy. I wouldn't use all three together though. Play around with Rose Radiance as a blush and see how that looks on you. It's really pretty on its own.

How does this compare to Urban Decay primer potion?
Is this all natural ingredients?
Top 10 Contributor
Not sure about the ingredients, but this works the same as the Urban Decay primer potion. Regardless of what primer I've used underneath, my BE and Buxom shadows have stayed on even in the 105 degree heat this summer. Was amazed. I do think the BE primer helps to enhance and intensify the BE shadow colors better than the other primers though. Also a big fan of the Primer Shadows and recommend those as well as this nude primer.

I'm looking for a great lip plumper and I was looking at the buxom lip plumper and was wondering if the results are permanent?
Are the results from the lip gloss permanent or do I have to keep reapplying through out the day?
Top 10 Contributor
It's not surgery, so the results aren't permanent; however I do find this gloss really does plump my lips. It seems to leave my lips plumped for hours afterwards. Of course like any product, it's going to have to be reapplied throughout the day anyway as you eat, drink, etc. Buxom glosses and BE glosses are all that I use now and if you haven't tried a Buxom yet, do it. You'll fall in love and want one in every color!

Why would I need to use this if I'm already using the eyecolor from bare essencials?
Do you apply this product before using the eyecolor or do you use this product in place of the eyecolor? I'm a little confused about the wholr prime time eyelid primer situation.
Top 10 Contributor
The primer helps your eyeshadow stay on longer. If you've only used the eyeshadow by itself and had problems with the color wearing off or creasing, then you use primer to help eliminate that. Just squeeze a small dab of primer onto your fingertip (it doesn't take much to cover your lid, so don't squeeze out a large gob or it will make your eyelids look crepe-y and more wrinkly), then glide smoothly onto your lid. I also like to dab a q-tip lightly into the primer and apply right under my lower lash line to prevent my eyeliner from straying. Primer also helps bring out and enhance the beautiful colors of the BE shadows and it really helps to keep your shadow on longer even in hot, sweaty, and humid conditions. I never used to use a primer, but once I did, I haven't looked back and always use primer with my eyeshadows now.

Looking for a color close to Prime Time Primer Shadow in Champagne Toast?
Anyone have any ideas on a color close to this? I have to buy all the extras just for one item.
Top 10 Contributor
I just discovered this color and will be on the hunt for a similar shade myself. I normally stay away from browns, but Champagne Toast is beautiful. Two other colors you might like are Moss and Nude Beach. It reminds me of a combo of those two colors even though neither one of those is as brown. They're lighter and Moss is more of a taupe while Nude Beach is more of a champagne. They're definitely not an exact match or even super close, but I think they would flatter your eyes if Champagne Toast did.
