I really love this foundation....but I didn't at first. So, for those of you unsure, play around with the application techniques and brushes and you will most likely fall in love with this! 1. Get color matched - this is critical. Unfortunately this was a painful process that resulted in multiple trips and exchanges before the "right" color was found. Granted this was at an Ulta as the BE Boutique near me wasn't open at the time this launched . I wear Fairly Light in the Original...and I also wear Fairly Light in the READY (most people have to go up a shade or two, but I didn't have to).
Less is more...I repeat, leas is more! Just a tap or two at the most and long strokes across the face and keep blending...you will soon see the coverage right before your eyes yet you don't "see" makeup, your skin just looks perfected! Do this again for more coverage. It is so easy to put too much on but please ease into it or you will not like the results. Also, make sure your moisturizer and/or primer is completely dry before applying.
I find this wears very well throughout the day and really love it!

I bought this on QVC before it was available in the boutiques and online. I love this. In my opinion, this is the best eyeliner BE has (better than the loose mineral liner and the Big & Bright). This has not irritated my sensitive eyes. The 8am is a dark brownish/black shade that is dark enough without being in-your-face black. This is very smooth, press very lightly or you will break the tip. I smudge with a BE liner brush and it softens the look yet without taking away the color intensity.
This stays on all day and wears nicely. I give this 5 stars because I love the color pay off, the wearability, the portability, and how smooth it is (no tugging!). However, there are a few things to be aware of, but it doesn't take away from my 5 stars: 1) make sure you put the lid on tight so it doesn't dry out. 2) be extremely careful when sharpening; this is very smooth, smoother than other "smooth" brands I've tried, and you can easily break the tip or oversharpen so that you waste a lot of product. 3) be very careful when applying so you do not press too hard, if you do you'll break the tip. I wrote to BE and told them a way to improve this would be to include a sharpener (hopefully built in) specific to this type, as the traditional sharpeners can been too much and take off way too much product.
In my experience, because it is so smooth and because of sharpening it, you will go through this faster than most similar liners...however, it is worth it!

My skin is very sensitive: prone to breakouts, clogged pores, and I have mild rosacea. My skin tends to react to most skin care items but I've had great success with BE. I received a sample of this from the boutique and instantly knew I had to buy this. My skin is combo-dry as well as ultra sensitive and this helped add moisture without clogging my pores or leaving a film. After the first night I applied it, I noticed a difference: my skin was softer, it was more even toned, and my pores appeared smaller. After a few nights use, I had a few stobborn clogged pores on my cheeks become unlcogged (gross I know, but they were located in a spot where nothing seemed to help and most products I had tried in the past were too harsh for me to use). After using this, my BE foundation goes on smoother and I use less foundation than I usually do because this helps make my skin look more even toned. I love that this is a serum yet safe for sensitive skin, doesn't feel greasy, and doesn't feel like I have something sticky on my face. This delivers and is now a staple in my skin care routine!

This is a very pretty palette. The colors are long wearing and have good color payoff, as expected with Bare Escentuals. My only complaint is that you need to be very careful at applying these, as they tend to easily flake upon application, resulting in flecks of color underneath your eye, making a mess.

I wear Fairly Light and have dark brunette hair. This gloss is the perfect shade when you are not sure what color to wear but need a put together look. I consider this to be a neutral shade and I think this would work on most skin tones because it is so subtle but doesn't wash me out. Love this!

I love this! Vitamins for your skin. This smooths my skin, gives it an even color, and improves the texture of my skin. This, combined with the Pure Transformation Night Treatment has completely changed my skin for the better. My acne scars have faded, the little bumps I have on my face are smoothed over, and the color of my skin is more even. When I don't use this, my skin starts to look "bad" again, so this really works. I cannot be without!

I am a huge fan of BE skincare and makeup. However, the Redness Remedy fell very short of my expectations. Upon opening the jar, there is a very chemical smell. I am sensitive to scents and in my opinion, the scent slowly lingered after wearing it and didn't fade very fast at all. I have mild rosacea with reactive redness. The Redness Remedy is yellow and although I understand yellow counteracts red, on my fairly light (foundation shade) skin, it looked like I packed on yellow powder, regardless of how light my applicaiton was.
The redness on my cheeks still showed and didn't fade....even after several days use. I did not "feel" any relief or less sensation than the warmth and irritation felt when you have a rosacea flareup.

After using for several weeks, my experience did not improve. I did not see any short term or long term benefits. The PureTransformation NIght Treatment is 100% more effective for my skin and at helping to reduce redness and relieve any heat and irritation from my rosacea cheeks. The PTNT not only works instantly a soothing my cheeks but it also covers my redness (I use the Light) on top of smoothing my skin, reducing my pores, etc.
I will not repurchase the Redness Relief and I wish I knew my results from using it would not change or else I would have returned it...but I kept using it hoping I would see results and I have missed the return period.

To me, this is a marriage of the regular gloss in Sugar Plum and the Buxom formulation! If you like Sugar Plum, you will also like this. This offers the plumping affect of Buxom but with better color payoff. It also lasts a little longer throughout the day, too, than regular Buxom. If you like berry/plummy shades, get this! For reference, I wear Fairly Light, have dark brunette hair, and green eyes.

I really like Celestine! It is one of those colors that if you are by a store that sells BE, check it out because the description on here and the color in the jar doesn't give it enough justice. This is a pewtery/bronze/taupe shade...it really is hard to describe. It has a nice shimmer and if you swirl/tap/buff, you will get a good amount of color payoff and not just shimmer (as someone mentioned below).
This is great if you just want a little something on your lids but the true magic is when you wear this with other colors. I call this my cameleon because it transforms so many other eye shadows. I just started branching out and trying different colors together and this is perfect with just about every other eye color! It is also great to use to lighten up a color that may be too dark. I always get compliments when I wear this. For reference, I wear Faily Light and have dark brunette hair and green eyes. My friends now use this too because you do so much with it.

This a great firming eye cream! You only need a tiny amount...and I do mean tiny. If you use too much (like I did at first), you will not like it and it will be too "tight" feeling on your eyes. My friend suggested I try it again and I'm so glad I did. Just squeeze a tiny amount and apply to your eye area and voila: the skin looks tighter and any fine lines are less noticeable. When I don't use it for a few days, I can tell...so I try not to go without.

Names have changed. Is fairly light luminous the same as N10??
The color names are the same: if you wore Fairly Light, you'll wear Fairly Light still. The difference is that there is the Original (luminous) foundation and also the Matte (matte) foundation...so you'll want to choose which formula you want but you'll wear the same shade (Fairly Light).

Is this a dark brown, or a light black?
It is a great mixture of both: it isn't harsh like some blacks are but isn't light as some "dark" browns can be. To me, it is the perfect dark brown/black blend.

Original faux tan or faux tan matte..
I read somewhere that the original faux tan would be replaced by the matte version.. But i like the original a lot better. And so it looks like a lot of people do. Is this true? Or will there be both?
Last year, I was told the Matte was replacing the Original....and it may have been my review that you learned this from because I was quite vocal about not liking what I heard from the BE advisor at the boutique....but since then, I was tld the the decision was postponed. I'm not sure for how long.

ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation - Fairly Light
The one and only foundation that started it all.
Not getting the coverage I thought...
I have been using bare minerals for a couple weeks now and love it. However, I am not getting the coverage that they show on the commercials. Even with the primer some of my redness shows. I have tried the concealer and also the foundation with the concealer brush. Not sure what to do. But I love the product and how it makes me feel. better than what I was using.
Hello! What has helped me is using the full coverage concealer brush to spot treat my trouble areas. Then I use the Full Flawless Face Brush which adds more coverage than the normal Flawless Face Brush. You'll want to swirl, tap, buff and I have always used more than they do in the commercials or on QVC, but I send to have redness and need a little extra coverage. Start out with a little bit, swirl, tap, buff, and go over if you need to...as the coverage will build. For me, the type of brush made a world of a difference as well as always using a minimal amount but then building from there (rather than trying to buff on a large amount from the start).

Will these concealers successfully hide dark red acne marks?
i have a decent amount of active acne on the sides of my face which leave very noticable red marks. Will this concealer be able to completely cover them? Also, should concealer be used over or under BE foundation?
Hello! For acne coverage, Bisque is the way to go. There are several shades of bisque depending on your skintone. I spot conceal with the concealer brush and bisque, then apply my foundation (I prefer the Full Flawless brush), and then I look at my face. Some days I don't need any more concealing. Other days, I spot conceal a bit more just to touch up amy areas that are problematic for the day. For undereye circles and darkness, Well Rested is the concealer to use. I do the same re: spot conceal, apply foundation, then depending on the day, may spot conceal afterwards. Hope this helps!

Blush - Beauty
Naturally good-for-you cheek color.
I am wondering what shade of blush to purchase--just one--on a budget!
I am not asking about the shade "beauty" specifically but the question form required that I select one. Instead I'm trying to choose one out of the entire array. My foundation color ranges/switches from fairly medium summer/fall to fairly light in winter/spring. I'm brunette with hazel-ish eyes and just looking for a more blushy color than the "warmth" that came with my starer kit. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
Depending on the shade you want, here's my thoughts. Beauty blush is one of my favorites (I know you didn't mean to choose that one) but it's a nice, pick-me-up pink without being too bright or scary. If you want a more berry/rose color, my other favorite is I'm Amused Rouge. I wear Fairly Light and these are two of my favorites. If you want a deeper berry/rose color, Compassion is one to try. It looks dark online and in the jar but it's very sheer and I love it. These are my 3 favorites and they also have a minimal amount of shimmer (I don't want too much) which I like.

Is this the correct shade after using Fairly Light and getting a tan?
I normally use Fairly Light, but I have gotten some sun recently so I'm looking for a shade that better matches my "new" skin color. Is this the one I should try first? My undertones don't appear any different than they did before, but I'm a little scared that this shade might be too dark since I'm rather pale.
I usually wear Fairly Light and the next shade up that would work is Light. Light is quite a bit darker but what I have been doing is mixing the two. If you don't want to buy a full size, you can look for the Try Believe Love kits $20 with lots of smaller sized goodies including foundation all for a great price.

I have used so many types of blush that look okay in the container. Sometimes when i put it on it looks too light or too dark. I just want it to look natural and blend in well with my skin.
Yes, I wear Fairly Light and this is a beautiful blush for our skin tones and this shade is one of my favorites! It makes us look like we are naturally blushing. A nice, soft color.

MATTE SPF 15 Foundation - Fair

Can you use the MATTE foundation if you have dry flaky skin and slightly oily in the t-zone area?
I have very dry flaky sensitive skin, which can also get slightly oily on the nose or the t-zone area. I also suffer from rosacea. I really want to try out bareMinerals but I'm not sure whether to go for the original or the matte foundation. I'm worried incase the original will cause irritation, burning, itching ect to my sensitive rosacea skin due to bismuth oxychloride as I've heard it has happend to alot of people. I really need your help! What would be better for me, the original or the matte? thankyou.
I have combo/dry, sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts and I also have mild rosacea. The Original foundation has worked wonders for me and has never irritated my skin. It covers the redness so well and wears all day long. I have tried the Matte and found that it did not cover the redness as well and also did not stay on throughout the day as well as the Original does. I recommend getting the Try Believe Love kit which has starter samples of both foundations so you can try which one works best for you. If it's not on the BE website, I know Ulta carries it...both in store and online.
