Well-Rested SPF 20 Eye Brightener is a great easy-to-wear eye pick me up. The color is flattering on fair to tan complexions and hides dark circles around your eyes. Tired looking eyes seem to brighten right up with a gentle sweep of this color. I also appreciate the SPF sun protection which you can safely use around your eyes. It is a great base to start with if you are using other eye shadow colors. I was never big on using eye makeup as I am a contact lens wearer, but I am using this every day for sun protection. It works great alone or with other colors. It isn't shimmery so you can use under your eyes as well as on your lids.
P.S. I'm stunned at how long-lasting this product is. You use such a tiny amount for each application that it seems like a small jar will go on forever. Plus the color stays on all day.

Wow, I'm usually not at a loss for words, but I find it hard to describe how much Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 foundation means to me. I would literally not walk out of my house without wearing it. I have not worn another foundation (other than Matte Bare Minerals) since I bought the starter kit years ago. I have sensitive skin and rosacea, but no one has to know that when I'm wearing my BM foundation! A few dabs of BM concealer on problem areas and a light dusting of Original SPF 15 Foundation and no one has to know my skin is nowhere close to perfect.
After dusting this foundation on, you won't even be able to feel that it is there. It is amazing how light this product is, even if you go for full coverage as I do. Plus, this is one time I can make my dermatologist happy. She tells me not to leave the house without sunscreen on and it is built right into the BM foundation. No need to put some slimy, stinky sunscreen on your face. Thanks Bare Minerals. This product is a dream come true. It has made a tremendous difference in my skin. I would feel naked without it.
P.S. I highly recommend using the Kabuki brush if you want full coverage. If you like lighter coverage the Flawless Face brush is a great choice.

I really like BM Faux Tan Matte. I use it as an alternative to Warmth, especially in the summer. I really appreciate that it does not have any shimmer to it, which looks a little too glittery for a daytime look for me. (I'm not in my 20s any more). As other reviewers have said, using it sparingly is the key to a great, natural look. The fan brush is excellent for application of Faux Tan. If you go too heavy on application, you can look a little muddy rather than gently tanned. Apply where sun naturally hits your face and you'll have a really convincing "fresh from a walk on the beach" look. The color definitely stays put all day... very long-lasting. Don't let the product color on the computer screen scare you... it looks great when you open the package. This product will last for years because you use so little for each application.

Smooth lips, good for every day use

I'm a fan of the First Base Lip Balm. It is very gentle on your lips, has SPF to help protect from sun damage and isn't loaded up with toxic chemicals. Works great as a base for your lip color or gloss. I have several of these and they travel with me everywhere. I work outside and find it helpful to reapply a couple of times a day. (My lips can get really dry and cracked, especially in the winter). The balm is very soothing and very light, not waxy or sticky. After using this product the first time, I threw all my other lip balms away because I knew I would never use them again. The product is absolutely colorless, but if you want a little hint of color, you can dab the end into a little of your warmth or one of your favorite Bare Minerals blushes. I usually start with BM Lipliner, then First Base Lip Balm, then add one of the Natural glosses. Works great with lipstick, too.

Let's face it... lipliner isn't the first thing you think about buying when you want to treat yourself to some new make up. Buy this liner anyway! It is great for keeping your lipstick or gloss on your lips where it belongs, as well as defining the shape of your lips. The liner is easy to control, stays all day and keeps any other products you are using from bleeding where you don't want it. I keep at least a few different shades... the one closest to my natural color and a couple of other colors that coordinate with the lip colors I wear most. The sharpener cap on the end of the liner is brilliant. No more rooting around in the closet trying to find a sharpener. Great product to use every day.

Blemishes? Redness? Blotchy patches? Freckles? Dark circles? Broken Capillaries? GONE with the help of Summer Bisque. This great product covers all the things you don't like about your complexion. I have all of the above problems and sensitive skin, so I can't tell you how glad I was to find Summer Bisque. No oils, preservatives, etc. to irritate your skin further. You'll find this product is ready to cover just about anything!
If you are used to a liquid concealer and have reservations about using a powder, use a (single) drop of water and a little of the concealer along with a wet/dry shadow brush to apply. I use that on the hardest to cover areas and then thoroughly blend with my Medium Beige foundation. (Once again blending is critical). The Summer Bisque Concealer stays in place all day and is about the only product I have ever tried that hides those dark areas around your eyes. The concealer is easy to use, doesn't ever go bad and really gives you confidence to face the day... even if your skin is having a "not so fresh" moment. Another one of my top 10 products.

Love the Kabuki brush!

With this face-friendly super-soft brush it is easy to swirl, tap and buff your way to perfection. The bristles pick up a lot of foundation so it is easy to get moderate to full coverage. It is also great for dusting on mineral veil. I keep a couple of these brushes so when I wash one, I've still got another one to use while the first one dries. Great for people like me who don't have perfect complexions and like extra coverage. I have had these brushes for years and they are holding up great. A little Well-Cared For brush shampoo and they are good to go. The short handle is ideal for me and makes it easy to buff. If you like a long-handled brush better, the FULL flawless face brush will give you a similar result. The Kabuki brush is a top 10 product for me. If I could only have 10 items in my makeup bag, this would be one of them.

I bought this kit because I liked the natural-looking blush, but did not think I would like the primer shadow and eye shadow because I stick with a very natural look. The blush is great, but I am SO SURPRISED by the other products in the kit. I wear the dove gray primer shadow any chance I get. A small amount of primer goes a LONG way. (I start with putting a little on my hand, then using the wet/dry shadow brush to pick up a little of the color and apply it to my lids). The brushes are amazing. I am truly a fan of the blush brush. It is very full and gives you good control and nice soft blending. The eye shadow is flattering and the product includes a very helpful tutorial that gives wearing suggestions and instructions on how to apply. The blush is very flattering, as is the highlighter. This kit and a little of your color-matched Bare Minerals foundation is all you need for great day-to-night looks.

Great basic for every makeup kit

These lip liners are just what you need to add subtle definition to your lips and keep your lipstick and gloss where it belongs. Keeps gloss from bleeding past where you want it to be. Gives nice, natural color and can be used under other products. Line lips first, then fill in with color. You won't be disappointed. With the three liners, you should be able to compliment every lip color you usually use. I recommend getting one close to your natural color and then one or two others close to shades you usually wear... pinks or berries or bronzes. I have used this product for years and consider it a must-have. It is easy to apply and even has its own little sharpener on the bottom (colored end cap comes off).

Thanks for making this product. It is literally a life-saver. Despite my dermatologist's near-constant warnings about skin cancer, I am notoriously bad about wearing sunscreen because I HATE all those slimy, greasy sunscreen products. Thanks to BE we now have an alternative. The SPF 30 sunscreen is odorless and perfectly color-matched to your regular skin tone. No one will ever know you are wearing it unless you tell them. It stays put, even if you are outside exercising. No more sunscreen running into your eyes during a workout. My husband even wears it on his face while we are out skiing because his so-called "sports" sunscreen lotion was slipping into his eyes when he worked up a sweat. The container is portable and is great to keep with you all the time. I am so happy to have this product that is gentle on my skin, but provides good protection from the sun. Thanks BE. This is a great product.

Can the First Base lip balm be used like Buzz Latte? Can I dip it into an eye color to use as a lip color?
I do not want to have to purchase the Lip Buzz when I already have colors to use but I do not see that Buzz Latte is sold separately, which is a shame.
Yes, you can absolutely use First Base Lip Balm with one of your eye colors. I use it with warmth or an eyeshadow with a little peachy color to it. Works great.

Hi, I don't know much about brand of foundation you wear, but if you look at the Bare Minerals foundation guide, bisque is best for people who wear one of the fair foundations, summer bisque is great for people who wear medium or medium beige and honey bisque is good for people who go from golden medium to tan. Experts generally recommend a concealer shade slightly lighter than your foundation, so if you have doubts go with the summer bisque which is a little lighter than honey bisque. It blends super-easily so I don't think you'll have trouble even if it is a little light.

Hi, Val... I think you will really like Bare Minerals. The powdered foundation, blush and highlighters don't settle into fine lines and wrinkles like liquid or cream makeup does. The eye shadows are very easy to apply and don't tug at the delicate skin in the eye area. It's always great to visit a store because the trained staff can make great suggestions. They all seem to take great pride in having you leave with products that are right for you. I'm not 20 any more and neither is my skin, but Bare Minerals products are literally the only things I will put on my face. Enjoy!

can teens use bare minerals too?
hello! :) i have currently taken interest in looking for the perfect foundation for myself. Being 17 i have oily skin and blemishes that i absolutely hate! i was wondering if your products are teen friendly? I have researched many different types of makeup and have tried some other products out there but all they do is clog up my pores and i break out even worse! so i have been looking at bare minerals for a bit and so far the product looks good but would it work for someone younger like myself? i hope to get a response soon :D ~phoebe
Hi, Phoebe. I'm not a teen, but I have oily skin... especially across my nose and forehead. I think Bare Escentuals makeup is perfect for your skin type. It is gentle on skin and doesn't include any of the pore-clogging oils and waxes that are in regular makeup. I have noticed a reduction in the number of blemishes since I started wearing Bare Minerals a few years ago. Plus, the makeup keeps you from getting that shiny look from having oily skin. Start with clean skin and try the foundation and maybe a little of the mineral veil powder (also a good oil fighter). I think you will really like it. You can get a totally natural look that will compliment your face. Then you might be tempted to glam it up with some of BE's blush and eye colors. Enjoy!

since i have black hair would the brunette brow color be dark enough?
my eyebrows are really light, small, and they are very very thin also. i use a black eyebrow pencil but its not working for me because it looks to drawn on. i want a black brow color, but i'm not sure if brunette is dark enough.
Hi, Emily. The brunette brow color is dark... but is not midnight black. It is more of an off-black or ashy deep brown color. It is very user-friendly and with the brow brush, very easy to apply so it looks natural. (Just hold it so you can draw tiny hairs, rather than trying to get a harsh line). The brow gel that comes with the eyebrow kit hold everything in place so you don't have to worry about it smudging by the end of the day. Hope this helps.

matte/original
what is the difference between the matte and the original....are they both safe to sleep in and do they both help the appearance of ur skin over time....i tend to have oily skin in certain spots and dry skin in other areas...what wud u recommend ..the matte or the original....thxs so much...
Hi, actually both matte and original are good. I have both products in my makeup kit. Like you, I have skin that is oily in some spots. I find that the original medium beige is a slightly better match for my complexion than the matte medium beige. I usually switch over to matte in Summer because it helps cut down on "shine" when it gets hot. I normally take my makeup off before going to bed, but I don't think either one of the products will hurt your skin if you sleep in them. Basically you can't go wrong with either product, so buy without worries.

What is the dimension of the case?
In inches, please, what is the dimension of the case that holds the brushes
Okay, I just measured the case. It is shaped like a tube and is about 2.75 inches in diameter across the top and is seven inches long. I have had this case for more than a year and currently store all the brushes that came in the set, plus a fan brush, a soft focus face brush, a flawless face brush, six different eye shadow and eye liner brushes and a couple of lip liners. I'm just telling you this so you get an idea of how many brushes will fit in the case. It's a great place to keep your brushes dust-free, but still out where you can get to them. The lid has two tabs with snaps on to hold the top securely if you are traveling.

When should I apply Redness Remedy? Because I have extremely oil skin, I apply Mineral Veil before and after my foundation/blush.
I do not want to compromise taming the oiliness.
I also wear Mineral Veil under my foundation to control that oily look. I have tried using Mineral Veil and then Redness Remedy and vice versa. Both methods work, but I like using the Redness Remedy first just a little better. Then brush on a little foundation and your other products and you're ready to go!
