Matte?

I was surprised that this color was a matte becasue I think it's much more like a glimmer. It has some sparkle in it and the consistency is similar to opal. I still love it and the color is great, but I was kind of surprised.

This is my favorite color out of all the Bare Escentuals shades. It is so creamy and amazing! The color was very white so I was surprised to see that it says antique white. I don't know, I guess if I compared snow with opal I would see a dramatic difference but just looking at opal it looks very white. It also has such a great sparkle that isn't too over the top. I love it and recommend it to everyone!

Questions

How does it work?
My little sister is beginning to use make up and she is CONSTANTLY stealing my mascara. I wanted to find her something that would be more age appropriate than Big Tease because she is just starting. I don't get how this mascara would work. I couldn't really tell from the picture. I guess I don't get the concept of a brushless mascara. Would this be a good choice?
